I was showing off my 2016 TRD Sport to my awe struck grand son, he was pretty impressed with the keyless entry, ( touched the door handle with only the key fob in his pocket) Click it was open. he climbed in, put his R. foot on the brake pedal, pushed the start button, it roared to life
he just sat there listening while bragged on the feature of the Blue tooth and touchscreen GPS
the he asked to see the engine, I pointed out the hood release lever and we moved to the front of the truck, where I raised the hood to give him a look at my engine, suddenly his expression changed and he ask..........If that battery were ever to go dead, how would you ever get into it to open the hood and replace it ? and sense there is no keyhole, if the battery in the key-fob failed, how would you get in???
I did not have an answer, and it seamed like a pretty valid question.
    HELP Please!

There's a key hole. Read the manual. Need to pop off the cover near the handle.

There's a valet key that detaches from the key fob. There is a key hole in the door handle for this.

ROCK! JK. I was running a government project about 8 years ago with 30 employees using two vans. The 2nd van got the keys locked in it when we got to the job site, I told the driver he had until the end of the shift to get them out. Being in a remote location on a base in a secured area and being that the shift ended at about 0300 the crew failed to gain entry by the time we were done. At the end of the 10 hour shift paying overtime I calmly walked over and threw a baseball size rock through the smallest window behind the drivers door and said. Load up, we are leaving. The crew was standing there with mouths open and ask why I would do that. I told them it was simple math. Window $200, paying 30 of you $38 bucks an hour overtime. I'll buy the window!

The part of the outside driver door handle, the part that doesn't move is where the access to this hidden lock is. Pop the cover off, then remove the key from the FOB and insert it into the lock and open the door.

Your grand son sounds like some friends of mine's kids who I gave a ride home. When we arrived at the parents place they couldn't stop talking about the way the windows went up and down on my Nissan Micra. They'd never seen manual crank windows before.
    Interesting how kid's brains work.

I have an 86 GMC K1500 and when I drive it my son gets to confused to open the window. I am like dude it's a crank, just turn it. He sits there baking with the window up.

My grandson saw an old rotary dial phone I had in the basement and lost his mind.

This reminds me of when my dad was taking care of my C6 Vette. I was deployed, battery was near death. For those of you who don't know, the way you open the doors is an electronic button on the handle...yep. battery had just enough juice to get him in to try and start it, but not enough to let him out lol. Poor guy was stuck for over an hour in the car and eventually climed out through the trunk. He never found the manual release button.

The phrase is "babes" not babies. 'Babes' means babies, its the first and original definition of the word. You're thinking of the slang.
