Yeah I have had the same thoughts. Gears have helped put a lot of pep back into this truck. That and the tune will just have to work for a while.

Yeah I'm hoping to regear and lock the front before Jambo. Not sure I can I come up with the $$$ right now though. I really want/need to be saving for a house so I can move towards the west!

That sounds like a better idea haha! I’d love to move out west. And I will in a few years. Where are you thinking?

I havent decided yet. My sister is in Pheonix sooo... thats off limits:rofl:(love my sis but we butt heads if we are around each other too much), Flagstaff could be cool and put me close to areas I'd like to be able to explore easily but I hear its expensive. Cali is a no go even though its the best place I lived growing up. OR might be an option but I've never been and its can also get expensive. Washington is a great place also but like Cali and OR its expensive. UT has potential but I am not a fan of Salt Lake city. I'm kinda planning a huge west coast trip next year to check out other places and also drive the entire west coast from SoCal to Seattle for fun and see some friends. I'm trying to manage a 3+wk trip to have time to explore some areas that I think might work for me while wheeling and camping almost the entire time. I would like to buy a place that has a few acres. I dont need a lot for a house as its just me and the dog(and another pup will get rescued when the move happens, my pup needs a pack bigger than just me :D).

I vote for flagstaff. It’s so nice there. The weather is cool. Close to all the goodness of south and east Utah. I agree SLC is meh. I’ve got many friends who live there but that city is too whitewashed for me. If I was Mormon, I’d totally live in SLC. Or a snow boarder. I am neither

Location is the reason Flag is climbing up in my current list of options. I love visiting UT and its so close to so much great land to camp and wheel. I do wonder if its farther south than I would want to be since I want to explore more up in WY, WA and other areas around that part of the country. A bonus is that since its close to my sister but not too close I'm sure my parents would move out that way also, making it so my whole fam was fairly close and it would be easy for them to see both of their children. I completely agree about SLC after living there for a few years as a kid. I do really love UT though and being close enough to go explore anytime I wanted would be a nice bonus.

Sounds like we are on the same page. I also like western Colorado but feel that flagstaff is under rated and undiscovered really. It’s not too far from there to basically anywhere in the west. Closer than Texas at least hahaha

Just getting out of Tx is a full days drive, especially down by you. At the end of next month I'll be making the drive from DFW to CO in a day and I'm guessing with stops its going to be around 12hrs to the first camp spot before heading towards Moab on the second day. Its another 4 hrs from your part of the state:annoyed:! I've thought about CO but its become the new Cali with its :rasta: laws. Might get better in a few years as more states are adding those laws but it will likely stay just as popular due to everything else the state has to offer. Another catch I have will be needing high speed internet for work and the right amount of land on my small budget. Makes finding a good affordable spot a little harder. Well that or a sugar momma that will buy me everything and finish building the truck of my dreams.

The Hypertech speed calibration device is here. When I coded it last night I learned there is over 10% difference in my speedo and mpgs from now to stock.

Heading out to get it installed like ASAP!

08/25/18 - Installed the Hypertech Speed Calibration device which was super easy. Plug it into the computer to set the old and new tire size and then plug inline behind the dash. Its 4 screws to get the cluster out and I had an additional 2 for the hard mounts for the Exepedition Essentials TPAM. Sorry, no pics on this one, but the speed on the speedo vs gps speed is exact now! Im looking forward to seeing what the real MPGS are too. Constantly doing math on the fly is a pita

Thats great it was such an easy install! I actually looked up the instructions and cost after your post earlier. It does look easy. When I do gears I may finally do this.

If you have bigger tires than stock, then thats when to get this. It will fix the speed which will then fix anything that uses that speed as a data source, like the mpgs, dte, and what not. I was 10.1% off LOL.... so 60 was 66... 70 = 77.

I'm around 5 off when doing 70. I'm just cheap and dont want to spend the money since my gps tells me my speed pretty accurately.

Also got an appt with the dealer on Monday to figure out why my transmission is leaking. Hopefully its just a leaking gasket and nothing major.

So, if I was to get slightly bigger tires then you could fix that?

Unfortunately, the device has to be inline with your dash for it to make the change in percentage based on tire size increase. Also, I like cold beer. My fav kind. In fact, Im going to go grab one!

Okay so I got a little news. It’s not transmission fluid that’s leaking. Tech said it’s engine oil! :(

They have not identified where it’s coming from but said it could be the rear main seal :bananadead:
