It can get ugly and people get butt hurt. When mom was in her final hours someone called a cousin who's a nurse. When she got there I told her about the dnr so she went hands off. It was mom's decision and hospice was already on standby for when she passed...but that was her decision. It's easy to understand that loved ones will do everything they can to save someone but that was a decision that mom made and, quite frankly, it was time and she wanted to "go home" (even though she was in her house, it's a common phrase. Dad even used it. Btw, they had been divorced since '68 and lived 350 miles apart and passed about 25 years apart).

thank you. @1 3/4 acres. ive got 5acre but rest is my hayfield. sharpened chain saw in case a tree is down on the road where we hunt.dad would have a fit. my sharpening skills ant much unless you want it to cut at 30degree angles. lol4343469E-4822-42CE-840C-D7C1A772DD24.jpg

We have 12 acres and I cut 2 acres.
I sharpen stuff for a living and sometimes I have a hard time doing a pocket knife.

So sorry to hear this. Sounds similar to what I went through with my dad. For my dad it was Bonanza and Gunsmoke. It’s tough to watch them go through this and know you can’t do anything to fix it. Like the others have said all you can do is be there for him and remember during this tough time to take care of yourself. :pout:

its definitly a skill. our carbide knives at work are as sharp as anything can get but shop has a machine that sharpens them. took years of trial and error to get the angle rite to cut and get life out of them. if you touch your finger on them changin knives you dont even feel it till blood runs down your hand. some people have refused to train on my book trimmer cause they are scared of the knives. i ant scared but have Great respect for them.carbide top knife and hard plastic bed knife. i use .002 shim stock when settin up a new one or it wont cut bottom page.

The “doctor” blades at Uniroyal were unbelievably sharp like that. Really had to watch it when working with them. When throwing them out we had to tape them up covering the edge and toss them directly into the trash compactor.

ours are taped by the shop also. carbide is super strong vertically but so fragile horizonal if you lay it on the table you can chip it.i took metalurlogy class but dont know that much about it. its the way the metal molecules are lined up when hardining.

Just got home from the car show and had a lot of fun !! . This was at the Victor Valley Community College campus and we got to park our cars alongside a small lake . It was put on by the local Lions Club and they had about 200 cars show up

Got to hang out with friends I know from the other car shows and had fun Bench Racing . Nothing like hanging out with fellow Drag Racers and having fun with our cars throwing revs and comparing who's sound better . The highlight of the day was having young kids wanting to sit in the Camaro

The look on their faces as they sit there holding the steering wheel pretending they're driving as they're waving at their Parents was awesome to watch . Even their expression as you started up your car was a sight to see

What was awesome to see was a lot of participants and spectators including myself wearing Hawaiin shirts and hats to show that we feel bad for the people of Hawaii and all they've gone thru in the last few days

Here's some pics from Today !!

Wow! Sounds awesome. Looks like a beautiful place to hold the event. It’s a lot better than the local shopping mall parking lot like they do here in the valley.

Someone told me about a toolbox getting welded to the ceiling where he used to work. Now that's a hard core prank right there. I would be livid.
