my opinion is that a generator really isn't an essential item. i throw as much bottle water in the freezer as i can and then if the power does go out move everything to a cooler. for me i rarely have more than a weeks worth of food in the fridge which equals less than a weeks worth if we at home eating three meals a day. everything will be eaten by the time all the ice is melted (plus you all have coolers already). generators need maintenance and you need to store gas (which doesn't store long term well). so for the effort of maintaining the generator/rotating the gas and using space to store a generator and gas i couldn't justify a generator. there are propane generators which may be a better option but i haven't seen one the size of the small Hondas.

and if you have to relocate the generator becomes more of a burden.

ive got the goal zero pv panels which i figure would be useful for recharging flashlight batteries after the storm has passed. batteries are probably the most useful thing to share with neighbors or trade if the power is out for a while.

    just my $.02

Trifuel conversion for the win.. have never run my genny on anything but propane so far.. my engine probably still looks new.. can easily store bottles of propane, way safer than gas and no need worry about separating.

I’ve even thought about getting a larger tank (than the BBQ size) but transporting that to get filled would be a hassle..

I got my genny years ago, just in case of a hurricane and honestly feel less stressed about the food lasting. The only thought is how to cycle 2 fridges rather than packing everything in one..

Every year I watch, just a huge bonus that a Hawaii team won it.

I hate that they gave them all those points though. Wish they could've kept that huge lead all the way till the end. Now that would have made a huge statement

That was a good game too. Another year another questionable Hawaii defense.

What's up strangers? Work computer has been down since July 31st, damn Windows 10 upgrade never happened before the deadline.

I was on the fence about a generator. Scored a 6000W with 240v at the NEX for $499. I can disconnect my house from the grid and reverse power my entire house through a 240v outlet if needed, enough to run the fridge, some lights and something to cook with.

I know some of you were excited to finally use that snorkel :rain::spy:
