    Hi,

This forum has been a life saver this week. I've wanted a Tacoma forever but it just wasn't an option for me. I'm buying this weekend and I've read and read and read till I'm dizzy. Hoping y'all can help me make the smartest move because there are so many options.

I was trying to stay under $28,000 but the fruit is dangling so low.

Any opinions will be very appreciated.

    Thanks so much!

So it’s between a 2015 certified and a new 2018 ? My advice is ask for an extended test drive on both model years.

Thanks. I do like the idea of 4x4 but in all honesty the most I'd use it for is trying to do a little beach driving down on Padre Island. From what folks are telling me I may not need the 4x4.

I feel like I cant lose any way I go after 20 years of old beaters. I just missed a great deal on a 2012 TRD 4x4 stick shift. $20K with 70,000 miles. I hesitated and it got snatched up

I don't think you will go wrong with any of those choices. Hard to beat a BRAND NEW truck, though..... :D

Thanks again to everyone for the warm welcome and for weighing in.

I went with the brand new DCSB in dark grey. Paid 30k + ttl. 2k for the extra 5 yr bumper to bumper and 1500 for 6 years maintenance. So funny, they tried to get me to pay for the ipod cable and wax as "package upgrades".. I dont even have an iPhone. Overall Feel like it was a good deal though... I tried get the same price for the long bed but couldn't get it in anything but white.

Its the first new truck I've ever bought - once I took it for a spin the extra $3500 bucks was a no brainer.

The 4x4 would have been nice but I had to put my limit at 30K and stick to it. The extra 3K for 4x4 went to the warranty / maintnenance instead.. not having to worry about truck problems for eight years won out over the 2-3 times a year it would have come in handy. Most of my fishing and camping spots just aren't that rough. Next one when the time us right it'll be a TRD Extended Cab long bed 4x4 stick shift (if they even still make them then)

    Now kayak rack...

Looking forward to lots of good memories to come. Thanks again y'all!
