Bfree, did you use them on your 3rd Gen? Are they necessary to keep the bed dry?

Yes I did. I can't speak to keeping the bed dry because I haven't been through rain yet but I would imagine they are needed.

Digging the cover. Install was fairly simple. Shadow, thanks for tip on the hose adapter. Worked perfectly.

Haven't tried, but I think the load weight is 300 lbs? Based on the materials used, I'd say yes.

Does anyone know if they make a bed rack system for the undercover ultra flex bed cover? I wanted to keep the bed cover but also have some type of rack / cross bars for a roof top tent.

Sorry I misunderstood. I don't think they make racks FOR the ultraflex model,
There is another model called the undercover ridgelander

    EDIT

    Yes, the undercover ridgelander
    Check it out
I think there is a few other brands too.

Ya I couldn't find anything online, but I just posted a thread about it so I will see if anyone else has any ideas.
    Thanks,

I just got the undercover ultraflex today, It looks great, but it never really occurred to me before I bought it that with the cover fully open,it covers the 3rd brake light. Could I be pulled over and get a ticket for covering my 3rd brake light?

Those who have this cover, do you think you could add these rings or similar and keep them under the cover permanently? I prefer to have the down points at the ready all the time.

Factory rails, the bed cover mounting rails mount to the factory rails, I just used the bed covers mounting bolts for the d-ring. The bed cover mounting rails completely cover the factory rails so if you wanted to put d-rings in other locations you'd have to drill holes in the bed cover mounting rails.

could you possibly attach a photo of where the cover rails sit towards the corners back toward the tailgate? I just bought this and I have been having some leaking issues and I'm not sure if I have it positioned properly. Much appreciated!

Sorry to raise this thread from the past but I was hoping someone could do me a favor...LB or SB shouldn't matter, but could someone please measure the height between the bed and the cover when it's closed? Specifically from the top of the bed "lines"? I'd like to pick up the ultra flex for the utility but I want to combine it with a waterproof tool chest out of concern for water intrusion...I just want to know how much room I have to play with. Thanks in advance!

I really appreciate it, thanks! It'll help me make the decision on which cover to get.
