Have same issues as OP, on a 2017, within 6mo of owning truck.

No I do not slide off seat, no am not morbidly obese... = P

Have as well, owned many other cars/trucks that don't exhibit this kind of wear for at least 5-6yrs.

Got 3k more miles before the 36k mark, but not sure I want to go deal with a Dealer and fight with them to have them (front driver and passenger) replaced.

May just get some WetOkoles/Clazzios/something fitted soon... *shrugs*

I was waiting in the truck for wife and when I moved a little it sounded like fabric tearing.
I got out and looked and saw my seat looking frayed like the 2nd photo but not quite as bad.
Then I realized the Velcro on the back pocket flap was the cause.
Wrangler cargo shorts. I may have the wife sew the pocket flap shut to hide the Velcro, and instead carry my wallet in my lower leg pocket.

I will keep; close watch on it, and if it gets worse I may try to get it replaced under warrantee, or get a seat cover.

I am afraid of getting hit at the end of lease for "excess wear".

My '93 truck did not start showing wear until about a quarter of a million miles and the bolsters on those seats were more than twice as big as this new truck. Stiffer too.

I did put covers on that finally but was not super satisfied with whatever brand they were. I know what I don't want is neoprene or leather. What are the best options for cloth.

FIA makes excellent seat covers. We have the saddle blanket ones. I work oil and gas in northern Alberta, this is what you’ll find in every single crew truck up here.
