OP Just to give you an idea. Not all U bolts are the same. This is the spec sheet that I got for my new U bolts:

Very interesting! I got nothing like that from Toytec.

Or he could crush the axle tube and springs.

I would red tag your truck until the longer u-bolts come in. Go borrow a car, rent a car or take the bus to do your errands. That is very dangerous. If you try to remove the shims you won't be able to reuse the u-bolts either.

That video was frustrating..not because of the driver..but because the god damn spotter saw what was happening and kept telling him he was good. Worlds. Worst. Spotter.

I have Icon RXT leaf package including U bolts and nuts and to make sure the nuts don't walk away, I did this.

Using nut to lock the primaries is fine. Loctite works too. The nylon in the nuts is not engaged but doesn't matter in the application.

David at Toytec says they should be torqued to 75, so I will be tightening them up a bit.

So I had emailed Toytec asking about it. Then I got impatient and called, which is when David told me 75. In the interim between my email and my phone call, Bijan had responded to my email inquiry and said use factory specs (52). I replied to him and said that David told me 75 and he replied back and said their techs torque them to 85. Soooooo, WTF?

What this means is that it truly doesn't matter that much. Just do them to 80 like I originally said and be done with it.
