Meet BarnFind, my $3000 and counting "Free" 2000 Toyota Tacoma SR5

This truck sat for years after the last owner got a DUI and couldn't afford the insurance, repairs, etc on it. He's moving out of state now and gave the truck to me, titled it over, as is, dead as it sat.

I had to jump it with my Explorer to get it started, but it fired right up in spite of sitting so long. Put gas in it, drove it straight to my mechanic for an assessment and oil change. After a few thousand dollars (past owner only did limited maintenance, and no major service in the records I could find so it needed valve cover gaskets, new plugs, plug harness, battery, battery connectors, fuel filter, all fluids changed, belts, tires, clutch, cv joints and boots, bulbs all around, headlights and side markers) I have a nice little trail truck and a second winter driver!

My husband and I mountain bike and are involved with volunteer trail work as a hobby, so this will be my little trail taco truck!

As she sits today. I still have work to do on her (needs another, more detailed, bath and buff and need to wash the canopy and roof, will probably replace the carpet kit as it has some big holes in it, and needs a new bumper cover), but she's gonna be my favorite toy for awhile I'm sure.

Funny side note, I have had so many offers to buy her! One of my mechanics, office manager at my shop, neighbor teenager, mystery people leaving notes on my windshield sitting in driveway and while I'm at the grocery store, and a guy at Walmart yesterday! Crazy! Wish I had a dozen of these, could sell them easy!
