I have a base 2012 Tacoma and it did not come with the OEM inverter. However, I managed to get my hands on an inverter, the wiring and dash switch for cheap. I managed to install the switch on the dash, all the wiring connected right up.

I put the inverter in the center console where it belongs and again it hooked right into the wiring in the center console and then I added the wiring harness that goes from the inverter itself, under the passenger seat and out to the exterior. One harness went down to the AC socket in the bed.

The other harness went forward and terminated under the hood on the passenger side.

So here is where I need a little help. That single pin socket under the hood has no wiring to connect to easily. I have looked under the hood of a TRD Tacoma at the dealer and seen that it plugs into a plug that joins the loom on the passenger side and then goes back to the driver side relay box and fuse box. So running back from the single pin grey plug my next stop should be at this relay.

Which connects to the missing 100A fuse here.

Which then connects to the battery. I pieced that together using these wiring diagrams.

So the easy part is connecting the power from the battery, through the 100A fuse, through the relay and into the gray one pin connector. If anyone knows what connector that is and where I could get the opposing one that plugs into it that would be great.

    There is another issue though.

The above picture shows that none of the wires from my cab switch terminate at the relay receptacle meaning that even if I put the fuse and relay in and wired them up I still couldn't activate the relay with the cab switch. Does anyone know where the wires from the cab switch terminate? Keep in mind, the LED parts of the switch work means some of them are connected to power? In the second wiring diagram that group of wires in the red box is what I need to find since that seems to be how the switch connects to the relay.

I hope that is clear. I realize it is a bit of a long post. So to condense this I would say my issues are:

    1. What plug do I need to mate up with the one pin grey receptacle that brings the power from the battery through the fuse and relay to the inverter?

    2. How can I connect my cab switch which is already pre-wired to somewhere to the relay?

    Thanks in advance.

    Bump!

Where did you source your parts? I'm looking to add one to my '06.
