I’ve lived in Hendersonville, Pleasantview, and Old Hickory areas and all three are nice areas. If you’re looking for land, Pleasant View, Millersville, Ridge Top, Springfield areas are a couple to consider north of Nashville. Donelson, Mount Juliet, Old Hickory, Hermitsge are a few to consider west of Nashville. Traffic into Nashville from Hendersonville is atrocious. From Pleasant View it is slightly better. Old Hickory you’re looking at 20-40 minutes depending on time of day.

Just know traffic in Nashville is continuing to be a greater problem as the city grows, but nothing near what it is in the Bay Area — yet.

If you know where to look Madison can be a good option. Neely’s Bend and Saunders Road areas are safe areas. All others are like living in Juarez. Prices can still be high as a lot of millennials are now moving into the outlier areas which is driving up prices, despite the condition of the properties.

Me, I panhandle, so if you need to live on the cheap, that’s an option too.

I work 19 miles from home. It's 40+ minutes at 5 a.m. to get there and up 120 minutes to get home. When it rains it's worse..so traffic don't scare me. Lol

TRD Off Road sticker. Not the whole package, just the sticker.
I've had an eno hammock for years and love it. I've camped in it a few time and it's way more comfortable than the ground. I'm gonna use this instead of a tent from now on but one thing I'm worried about is rain. I recall a few of you guys weathered the storm (that destroyed my tent) during the lbl meet with no problem. I dont wanna get a shitty rain fly/tarp. What were you guys using?

Pleasant view is a great place. I grew up there and moved away about 5 years ago. I still miss it when I go back.

I also grew up there. Has that small town feel to it but isn't too far from Nashville.

Hammock and tarp is generally the way I roll unless I have a wild hair. Go with the Eno XL tarp. Lots of space for hangin out in foul weather.

First photo is with two hammocks with space left over if one side is raised.

The second photo is my quasi bushcraft setup.

That's a great option as well. Plenty of dry space under it.

I'm probably going to do it. We'll see.

Just seems impossible to stay dry when it's raining hard with both sides open like that.

There are definitely tricks to it, but it's doable. I have a much smaller tarp that I use when backpacking, and I've stayed completely dry under that. Also stayed dry under my 5x8 Golite poncho/tarp. It's all about a good hang.

Ended up buying a 13'x10' tarp. Thinking if I ever get caught in something to bad I can always turn it into a make shift tent.

Square (rectangle in your case) tarps are difficult to get taut. Get some tarp clips for the middle of each side panel and plan on guying it out there to keep it from flapping in the wind all night and driving you crazy.
