Hello guys. I have a 2000 4runner 4wd. I had two but one was totaled and I should get a check for it within a week. I find myself peering at Tacoma's whenever they pass. I have been a truck owner most of my driving life and have a GMC Sierra 4wd for work. I have the 4runners because I like them and it has been fun tinkering with them and getting them back in proper working condition and making some modifications... Lift, tires, etc. That said, I would like some information, if you don't mind. What are some things to avoid or to look for in selecting a Taco? I am entertaining the idea of 4wd and locking differential. Thoughts? Thank you.

Just gonna pretty much copy and paste this from the 10-15 identical threads per week posted about this...

    WATCH OUT FOR:
    • Frame rust
    • Leaking rear axle seals
    • Loose steering rack (pre-'01 trucks)

4wd with locking diff would be fine. Mostly ideal

depends if you really need a truck or you rather have cabin space. Me personally would choose a 4runner over a taco if I didn't need a box
