New head unit

My truck didnt come with the Aux port in the radio. Should i go with a nice double din head unit like an Alpine which runs between 900-1000 bucks or is there another way. I know about pluggin an adapter to the cig lighter and running through an fm frequency but ive heard the sound quality is pretty poor with that setup. Any suggestions guys?

I paid $109 for my Kenwood w/ an aux port, a front usb & Ipod controls. Its a single din but the price was right, the metra fit kit/harness was free from Crutchfield & it sounds sooo much better over the stock non-jbl system. I wish I had done it sooner.

The nicer decks are sweet but I couldn't afford it.

 

See i got my friend telling me that if i go with anything go with Alpine, they are so expensive though!!!!!
