That still means nothing as to why your skinny tire argument has any merit

Maxxis Bias ply tires are 6ply and 4ply and cost $370. Ply is not a measure of cost or quality.

Skinny tires are great for people who overland because overlanding is hands down the easiest off-roading you can do. You can technically overland in a stock Tacoma or Subaru because most trails are Easy.

You won’t see skinny tires on dedicated offroad trails or dedicated offroad trail rigs unless they only run easy trails.

It’s the same reason overland trucks don’t run dual lockers, dual cases, 35s, long travel, or beadlocks.

Arguing that a skinny tire is better than a wider tire is like trying to argue that a 33 is better than a 35.

What?! Dude the rigs used in overlanding have all that stuff because of 60 degree muddy inclines, pulling a trailer, crossing rivers, dusty trails, snowy mountains. What other off-roading could possibly be harder? I think your definition of overlanding is trail riding. Unless you are talking about rock crawling or climbing some giant stone wall in Moab, I really do not agree with wider being better for off-roading. I live in Oregon and we get plenty of mud and rain. Skinny tires cut through and get serious traction where a wider tire tends to slide from side to side in the thick stuff...not to mention you lose power with wider tires. I don’t want to argue about this because it is a tad silly, but there is serious backing from people who off-road seriously a lot about the benefits of skinnies

I’ve actually done all that in a Subaru hatch.
Haha well when you are ready for the big leagues come out to Colorado. You’ll be winching more than any 12.5s

Was just there. Big leagues lol. Colorado is an awesome state with amazing off-roading. But it doesn’t have the mud or rain like we do. I’m surprised at some of the land laws there when I was hunting for property

That’s not fun but bring you truck next time. That’s all my backyard and I know Pike national forest like the back of my hand. Argument aside, I’m always down to wheel with a taco bro.

Fair enough. Appreciate it. You can tell from this pic why I want to go to taller tires and 17” wheels for tire selection, it’s clean I know, but it’s also my daily driver.

There hasn't been a convincing direction either way here. The "you must not be really off roading if you're running skinnys" argument open pandoras box and the jeep guys are lining up to talk about IFS, wheel base and approach/departure angles.
