So I dropped the factory spare because I plan on replacing it with a matching set I'm about to put on. However, I noticed what looks to be some nasty burn marks on the sidewall. Does anyone know what this is from and whether or not I should worry about it affecting the integrity of a spare?

Not burns, just pressure marks from it being wedged up under the truck. As long as they aren't too deep I wouldn't worry.

Mine looked worse when I flipped mine, only had to use it once but didn't have any issues

Ok yeah that makes sense, I just saw that brown-to-black gradient and was like "TF is melting my tire?" Glad to see that it's nothing to worry about.

Lol yea, it definitely looks like a "burn" but that's just a reaction from the oils in the rubber compound.

Tires do some weird shit, I've been in the industry most of my life haha
