I've dehydrated hundreds of pounds of fruits and veggies and lots of meat too - beef and venison. Just use lean cuts, trim off any fat, and marinade in a brine or a soy or amino solution. Never used any vacuum sealed anything, and never had any mold or rot problem. Just stored in regular plastic bags or mason jars. I mean, the cowboys could do it. The Aztecs could do it, and even earlier than them. Of course, they didn't have one of these, which makes the task a bit easier...

 

Ok, if no one else will ask, the new guy will. Why the mini topper backwards on top of yours?

JK, But I am curious why you took the rail caps off and added the foam tape?

 

To reduce dust intrusion into the enclosed bed and stop potential water leaks driven up under the plastic rail cap.

It's absolutely beautiful!! The wife and I are planning a trip to Vegas next year. This time we are going to be there longer. Would love to get out to see the Grand Canyon! Thanks for sharing that pic and the tip!!!

 

I thought that looked like Brycian geology, and I remember seeing Kodachrome on the map nearby.

 

Not to be a noob, even though I probably am. But, how in the heck can you tell "Brycian geology" from a picture?

 

The strata and colors. Although it is far less eroded than Bryce.

 

Having lived east of the Mississippi for all of my life, I will take your word for it. It all looks the same to me.

Nice. Sw utah and US is my next extended trip area since I've stuck to just beyond Moab so far. Im itching to get out there!
