    Backstory:

At the time I purchased my truck, I was 15 working as a soccer referee. After saving money for years, I found my Tacoma on Copart for auction with hail damage. I bid on the truck and ended up winning at $10,980 after fees and everything OTD. Not going to lie, I had only seen pictures of the truck. When I went to pick up my truck, I thought to myself, what the hell did I get myself into.

    It was dirty as hell...

Part of the rear windshield was gone...

The driver door window was gone and covered up with some kind of sticker (PITA to remove)

And lastly the extensive hail damage...

Now I know what you're thinking, that truck looks like a POS why the hell would you spend almost $11k on that? Simply because I was 15 at the time, and really wanted a tacoma but had a tight budget. I can gladly say I paid for this truck in cash. The interior as well as the engine was impeccable. I could honestly care less about the hail damage because the truck is in immaculate shape for what it is. I am now a sophomore in college studying Neuroscience and Biology as a Pre-Med Student at Baylor University. It has come a long way, and is far from perfect, but I worked my ass off for it so I will enjoy it for as long as possible.

    Now for some mods:D

    Interior-

    Interior Future-
    • Second 10" subwoofer/amp
    • Clazzio seat covers

    Exterior-

    Exterior Future-
    • 315/75r16 XLT's
    • BAMF Hybrid w center hoop
    • ATH std rear bumper

    Wheels and Tires-
    • SCS Stealth 6 (16x8) Matte Jet Black
    • Cooper AT3 XLT 285/75r16 (current)

    Under the hood/performance-

    Suspension-

    Suspension future-
    • Rear shock relocation
    • 12” 2.0 Kings w resis and adjusters
    • Bamf HD hangers
    • Bamf HD shackles
    • Ext brake lines
    • Hanger Crosstube

As of now, I'm a broke college student with no time so most of my mods are on hold. I am still doing things here and there, but nothing major as I am saving for mid travel and food so I can survive.

Hey man that’s a cool story. You definitely went a different route than most, but hey, yours is paid for. I wish I could say the same :ballchain: I should stop buying mods and just put all my money towards owning it.

Nice!!! digging the switch to one piece rear window. Also nothing wrong with some hail damage as long as there's not excessive water damage to the interior which doesn't look like it.

If you're going to replace the fenders anyways then might as well go with bulged fiberglass fenders and go long travel:militarypress:

Nice man! The mods never stop.... this forum sucks for that. So many little 20-30 dollar parts people make that always always make sense to buy lol

Got lift/tires installed, beyond happy with my results. CMC was very very aggressive though, but zero rubbing even at full flex and full wheel lock. Suspension and tires ride like a dream, not sure why people say E load tires ride rough I personally feel mine are super smooth at 35psi.

I have to hand it to you brother, very few folks your age have the vision to do what you did! You worked hard, made a great purchase, made a plan. Stuck to it! Came out with a great truck! I can honestly say I would have done everything the exact same. Very nice truck! looking forward to see what you do next!

    Congrats!

I’d for sure go with at least McNeils 2” flare fiberglass, even if you don’t plan on LT, will definitely make mid travel setups and your 285’s or bigger fit better !

Or just screw it and go with full width glass and then LT ! :headbang:

Great looking truck even as is, Superwhite is always so clean

I honestly don’t have a justifiable reason so go LT just because i wont drive the truck much in college. Id rather put the money towards college.

And thank you! Im stoked on how it turned out

I dont know you, but you sound like a great young man. I never would of have attempted doing all this at your age. You should feel very proud dude. Also, beautiful truck. Way better feeling knowing how far you've come with that truck, than spending 20K more just to get new. Congrats.
