It did "OKAY" in my book. I say that with multiple tens of years towing experience with full-sized diesel-powered trucks, so I really did not know what to expect. I will always want for more torque. I engaged the ECT button and left the transmission in D, which automatically found it's home in fourth gear, sometimes in fifth on the open highway at 60MPH with cruise set for that (about 3800-4500 RPM depending on grade and headwind conditions). Not dramatic, but not what I'd like to do regularly. This was all I-90 and state highways between 83815 and Leavenworth. Certainly a safe setup. Our trailer is a 2019 Rockwood Geo Pro Model# G16BH at 2900 dry, 3400 loaded but still mostly dry (5gal fressh, empty grey and black). I use an Andersson weight distributing hitch which is a dream setup and not bouncy like a "regular" WD rig.
We'll probably only do one, maybe two longer trips like this a year, so I think this is enough truck for that frequency, but many more shorter, local camping excursions which can all be handled well.
Very pleased with the truck (my first Toyota)!
    Ecstatic with the Geo Pro!

Intake, exhaust, OVTune coming soon should help (?).

Appreciate some decent feed back from someone who’s actually towed a lot and didn’t just but a Tacoma as there first truck complaining about the engine and towing.

That’s the exact model I’m looking at, also have towed lots with diesels mostly and my old Tundra. Usually a lot bigger trailers then the 16BH. We have a lot of hills in BC, happy to hear it’s manageable.

It’s a great place, though it was a bit surreal this time to arrive and see a bunch of cattle roaming free through the park. LOL.
