need help picking out a new system

like title says i need everything for my 06 taco double cab(head unit,speakers,amp,2 10" subs or some nice 12"s if they can fit behind back seats in double cab. Head unit needs to be ipod friendly and i dont need it to hold more than 1 cd. I would like to keep this under 1g so if anyone thinks they can help show me a nice setup i dont know to much about the brands or what i need. Im open for anything though.

 

Might want to constrain that a bit. What type of music, how picky are you with sound, stuff like that. Could build you a full system for like 400, but it will be made up of flea market crap.

Are you going to install this stuff yourself? Is your $1000 limit all inclusive (cables and all that)?

 

Well my setup cost just under $900 pioneer deck ipod adapter, rockford fosgate amp, and 10" pioneer shallow sub, sooner has a point what kind of sound you looking for bass, rock etc... what kind of a deck do you want just a cd player and a double din brand is always a factor cause of price. alpine, pioneer is what i would go with.

 

rap/hardcore/metal so it needs to hit hard on the bass but should still sound good on hardcore/metal type music. head unit can be simple 1 disk as long as it is ipod friendly. I dont want the sound to be distorted or anything it should be pretty clean. I can install it all myself and build sub cases. i would like to stay under 1000 but if it can be that much better for 100-200 more ide be willing to.

 

I just finished my system. I bought a sub enclosure from supercrewsound.com, It fit really well and worked perfect, then I picked up two MTX 10" TT65 subs, two 5.5" thunderdome coaxials for the back and two 5.5" thunder axe components for the front. I used my old Clarion 1000.1 amp to power the subs, and an alpine 4 channel from my old car setup for the speakers. I also picked up a clarion deck z585usb which features 6 channel, 6 volt preouts, so I get less noise on my highs. It also has oem steering capability, if you pick up one of those pac boxes, you can keep your steering wheel controls. It sounds really good, but the subs don't have quite enough room to move in, they tend to hit the back of the seat if I turn them up too much, but overall, I'd say that my system sounds pretty decent, But at around $1800 it was pretty expensive, considering I already had the amps. The plus side is that everything is hidden, and except for the deck it appears to be oem.
