If you turn on the front map light does that make the dome light full brightness? I have the same issue with mine. That is the only temporary fix I have found. It happened even when I was using the OEM bulb so i don't think it is an led issue

this is going to sound a little sketchy, but i have all led in the map lights and dome light and got tired of it not lighting up right. my fix for the issue was putting the stock bulb back in the dome light, under the led panel i had in there. that way the light is working normal and getting the right resistance, but hidden and the led is shining in the cab.

he sells plug and play units with the resistor already connected to the LED!

i had the same problem with my dome light not going to full brightness until i turned on the ignition.

after i purchased a set of lights from jumpers led's my dome light is at full brightness when i open the door again. just like factory

    04 1st gen DC!

forum says for 2nd gens but shoot him a PM and you will reveive LED's that actully work!

Yep, that's what I did. I've purchased the dome / map lights from Chris about 2 years ago and they are still going strong.

This thread is probably prehistoric but I’m having a flickering issue with front amber corner marker lights. They were great for a week then last night both of them started flickering. I took one out of the headlight housing and noticed it was hot so I blew on it and the flickering slowed down so I let it cool for a minute and it stopped. Then I let both of them cool and they stopped blinking. About 10 seconds after putting them back in the housing where there’s no cool air they started flickering. Are they all going to do this or do I just have a crappy set of bulbs??? They’re the imitation LASFIT leds. I didn’t think it was a big deal when I ordered them but maybe It was??

Probably crappy LEDs getting to the end of theirs life. Some LED bulbs (with fancy driver built in) have a heat protection built in the driver. Depends on the driver some may go dim when hot other will cut off (flicker). So when bulbs are flickering in normal use it means the driver is going out (overheats and trigger thermal protection).

thanks for all the comments and support, i been reading this thread and decided to give it a try, what the heck there pretty cheap anyway. So i taught myself how to solder, bought some 100 ohm 1 watt resistors and i can say without a doubt in my 2002 tacoma prerunner that this works 100 percent. I now have blasting dome and map lights working with the key off. Thanks to everyone for there input i would never have figured this out alone. This has been one helpful thread
