I have been looking for a magnaflow or borla muffler for our Tacoma’s with the correct inlet and outlet but haven’t had much luck. I don’t like many of the catback systems because of the big ugly chrome tips they put on all of them. I have a flowmaster on my first gen pickup and a magnaflow on my 4Runner but want something a little more mild on my Tacoma. Any pictures/suggestions? Thanks! Pfa

I cut my catback at the axle. If you're looking for a "mild" exhaust note than I recommend the TRD as well.

I think you'd like the performance tone of the TRD Cat Back. I know you said you don't favor chromed exhaust tips, but the TRD is bad ass IMO and you can always spray the sucker with black high heat paint.

i'd also recommend the TRD catback as long as you're not changing anything else like removing rear cats, because that changes the sound a lot and you wouldn't be giving it rave reviews. but with stock exhaust it's pretty great.

The TRD cat back is a borla and sounds great imo.

Are you looking for a full exhaust replacement or just the muffler? I just had a black widow venom 250 welded on and it's perfect for what I wanted. Very mean and aggressive when you really step on it but almost silent when you get up to cruising speed. Absolutely no drone at any speed

The Borla catback sounds great, and like dkap79 said, it's the same as the TRD, only less expensive.

Side note: What size tires are you running? Do you have a lift also?

I got it in May and I wouldn't get anything else. Like you said, no sound clips on the internet, I just took a chance and I love it. I will try and make a clip over the long weekend and post it up after Labor Day. In my opinion this sounds much better than the TRD Pro catback, but this isn't for grandpas. This is for people who want a badass sounding truck. The taco doesn't sound like it has a V6 with this. And I had a Tacoma meet earlier this month and everyone wanted to know what exhaust I had.

I would go trd catback but I keep finding them for $600 or more. Also no lift yet just 265/75s!

I was scratching my head because I saw the Borla and TRD prices also. The best deals are within a few $$ of each other.

That AFE looks nice and seems as though cutting the pipe just behind the muffler for an axle dump would be easy as pie.

What would be nice is to get just the muffler and scab it on to the stock system, if doing the axle dump. I also need to get the crossover pipe rerouted anyway.
