My Taco finally hit it's little puberty mark today...

(this is my first new/dealer vehicle) BUT local stealership doesn't have an opening until 9/20. Do i put around 750 - 1000 miles on the guy or should I look for a out of town one?

It's only a tire rotation so no big deal.

I did not even waste my time with that service..............it is included and free but not much is done. I do not like going to the dealer and do all the things I can on my own. Changed the oil at 10,000 like the manual recommends, I don't want to get into oil intervals, however the manufacturer says that is appropriate and I feel they know best..............

Or use it as an opportunity to take it in to have the transmission TSB done if you have not done so already?

Yea but it's better to have them do service until Toyota care runs out for warranty reasons

I also have an extended warranty. I think I'll just go - it shouldn't hurt anything and it'll be an excuse to call my day a hour or two early:bananadance:

They topped off the washer fluid, rotated tires, and washed the truck. Free food/drinks. Why not? Free service and if any problems arise, I can point out they serviced the truck at the designated intervals.

I took mine in for it. I made sure they filled up my washer fluid, was almost gone, ha. Also had them do my oil just because I didn't want to wait until 10k for the first oil change - peace of mind for me. I'm making sure to hit all the services that are given to me free of charge.

OP just wait until 9/20 and go to your local dealer.

Like others said its just a tire rotation. I would opt out of any free car washes. Those are a joke and a good way to get scratches/swirl marks into your new truck.

The free car wash always rips the black molding on top of the cab off. After 3 replacements they don't wash my truck anymore.

There's a wash in town that does such a great job, no swirls, streaks - nothing. BUT EVERY GOD DAMN TIME THEY RIP THAT OFF. Alright

Thank you all for the advice. :drunk:

On my 5k mile I was able to get free coffee.
I would definitely do the reflash of the transmission.

I was over 5k for the 5k service.. like 6200 or so. I have done all of my maintenance for the last 16+ years, never once going to a dealer for service.. but I did take the truck in for the 5k, and they ended up changing my oil for me for free. Scheduled ahead, had a free cup of coffee, 40 mins in and out. I just wanted it to be documented in case anything ever happend, or if I ever sell the truck and someone cares..

Did my 5k at 6.5k for the sole reason of getting tranny flash. Which they did. May take it for oil at the 10 but honestly I prefer to do my own work if it is not a warranty issue. Gives me a chance to look over the truck while I am doing things
