Read your manual. You hold the remote up to the switch and push the button.

If your locked out of the truck....
There is a key inserted into the fob and there is a access hole at the handle of the driver side of the truck. Not sure if you have to remove the cap from the non moveable part of the handle or the hole may be on the underside. If not remove the cap and the key hole will be revealed.

Hopefully under point 3 it won't be in the middle of nowhere. I have a manual with a real key. By the way the manual also says to change the batt once a year. Good advice.

I'm befuddled on how anyone can spend $36,000 on a piece of machinery and not read the manual.

I'll grab another cup of coffee an settle down.

I don't have my manual on me, but does it discuss how to open the key fob to change the battery? I'm looking at it and unless I have to remove the Toyota emblem I don't see how I can non-destructively do this.

Nevermind. I just realized if I took the key out and then gently pry from the hole that is exposed it will pop open.

Btw, (on TRD OR at least), dash display will tell you when battery is getting low in the fob. (Besides noticing range reduction)
