    hi all,

We are looking to have our tail gate painted (PO didn’t and it down to metal in a few spots) and have our two front seats refurbished (needs new foam & springs). San Diego county is preferred but would potentially be open to OC/LA area.

Any auto body shop should be able to do a decent job on the tailgate. The seats might be harder to do for a decent price. You might even want to just go to a junkyard and see if you can find some there.

I used to do Auto body for a while and out of the 3 places I worked, I really liked the spray booth AJ USA in Mira Mesa had.

I need a full respray (windows removed) and upholstery for my project car. Stateside it is at least $10K for respray at a reputable shop and another $3K for upholstery.

Anybody on here gone to Tijuana for work?

I’ll take a look, last time I searched pick your part’s website didn’t see any post 01 Tacoma’s (I thought I read there was a slight difference in parts). Are there better places than pick your part?

Any idea what a fair price for the tailgate would be?

Respray? Are you sure you don't just need a new clearcoat? There are a lot of guys that can help you with their "at home" shops around town. I remember a few of the hot rod guys have full frame straightening machines at their house along with kick ass paint booths. I would suggest asking on some forums for help, same with upholstery and or finding some of the new guys looking to make a name for themselves.

TJ can be good if you know who to talk to or can speak the language to do some canvassing.

I bought a project car to keep me busy. Paint still looks good from 20ft away. Close up you'll see paint chip down to the primer. Interior is shot to shit, need foam and leather.

Sure, but I'm not local. Asking in SoCal in case someone had experience with TJ shops.
