I have similar issues as you....I'm 6'3-ish and initially found that the front of the seat offered very little to no support for my legs. I have grown used to it after a 1 1/2 years and it doesn't bother me now. I wish there was a way to raise the front of the seat with spacers, but it's just not possible without a fair amount of engineering as the mounts bolt diagonally into the floor.

I've adapted.....I end up kind of "man spreading" while I drive....which is fine, but my left foot goes numb on longer drives because i can't rest my foot squarely on the dead pedal.

I also found that if I move the seat back a bit further, it helps with the upper leg support. I can get away with this because I have ape arms (37" sleeve length).....may not be possible for people who have normal arms. The lack of steering column adjustment doesn't help matters either.

So my advice.....if you haven't owned the truck very long, give it some time and see if you can adapt.

I'm only 5'10, and I have the same issue. I also attribute that to the lack of bucketing (it could also be because the seats sit so low). It makes it so your legs naturally kind of sit above the front of the seat rather than your legs fully resting on the seat and getting support. The seats are trash.

Got the driver's side seat done today at a local upholstery shop... WOW... What a difference!! Highly recommend, so glad I tried this before going to a full seat replacement. As soon as I got in the truck I noticed a huge improvement!! Responses to specifics below.

You're right they don't. Adding foam to the lumbar makes a big difference. Adding foam to the rear of the cushion also helped, and put the lumbar support in a better position.

If you want maximum adjustability you should look into the Scheel-mann Vario F seats. It has an unreal amount of adjustability, amazing quality, but they're spendy.
    https://www.metaltech4x4.com/scheel-mann-vario-xxl-f-seat/

Same exact situation for me, I was a little concerned about this but decided it was worth a try anyway. Pleasant surprise, the modifications kinda change the way you sit in the seat all together, and where it's positioned, happy to report I feel no closer to the roof. Overall sitting much more comfortably.

I've had the truck over a year, and I was tired of not being comfortable on road trips, that's what I built the truck for. Pretty happy with the results, it's worth considering.

Also a very true statement. Toyota completely missed the mark on the seats themselves and the overall ergonomics of the truck. Or it's just designed for a smaller human. I highly recommend this seat mod!

First photo is of the passenger seat in stock form, second photo is driver's seat after modifications.
Photos don't do it justice really, the driver's seat now has a less aggressive angle at the back of the seat cushion, a flatter profile. Instantly noticed an improvement when I sat down. Also added about an inch of foam to the lumbar which resulted in a useable lumbar adjustment!! I no longer need to have it cranked all the way out, and the position is much better on my back due to all the changes mentioned.
I'm really happy with the results so far, and glad I started with this vs full seat replacement. This cost me 400 and that includes opening up the seat one more time to tweak as necessary. Well worth it, can't wait to put some miles on it!!
After I make sure it's good to go, I want to have them do the passenger seat and a leather kit. It'll be like a whole new taco cabin!!
Between this seat mod and the OVtune, maybe I'll drive to Toyota HQ and kindly give them a real life example of how to build a better driving truck. Sheesh.

If there’s one thing i hate its the headrest... I keep wanting to take it to an upholstery shop to shave the dam thing in half! What’s up wit the crazy forward angle on these headrest.

That’s actually mandated by law to restrict head movement during a crash. Limits whiplash. But I know what you’re saying.

Dont get me wrong I get it.. but my girlfriends Subaru for example is adjustable, it clicks into different settings. Ours is so bent over (and I have an egg head, lol) it’s incredibly uncomfortable. I just wish I could bend it back a bit, most manufacturers at least allow some light adjustments.

I tried that but chickened out, it’s so far back I think it might be pretty dangerous Incase of an accident lol. My gf loves it though, especially when she has her hair up in a bun she flips the headrest.

I heard the ops complaint and have no doubt he has an issue. I feel really lucky they don't bother me. I drove 1200 miles on vacation a few weeks ago and was surprised how comfortable the seat is for me and my body. I had no issues during a 10 hour drive other than that fact that being on my ass for 10 hours in any car gets old. Didnt mind the seat itself though. The adaptive cruise control in my 18 is lovely on the highway and helped a lot during those long drives.

sortof stock. 6112/5160, pro wheels and a tune.
Do you by any chance have any photos of where these put the additional foam? (meaning, is it under the OE cushion ontop the metal grid, or is it between the OE cushion and the fabric?)
I have a towel on my seat, and i notice i feel way better and not as tight. So i may do exactly what you did.

I purchased one of these. My ass and back hurt after 400mi like I was sitting on a rock for a month. It puts me up higher in the seat and I’m much more comfortable driving. If your tall though it probably won’t work because it raises you up about an inch. The cool thing is it has a fart hole in the back and helps with oder dispersion.

Just ordered mine yesterday. Planning to add memory foam during install. Anyone know if adding heating elements would melt foam?
