2017 navi entune fits in 2014 plug-n-play

Anyone ever try this? Just wanted to share it works. Straight plug-n-play.....

Picked up the new radio for 100 bucks on craigslist. Knew i had to try. The shiny display actually fits the shiny bezel nicer than the old matte finish. Fills up whole dash. And then some. Took a whole day to dremel at trim the radio and the bezel. Pretty much cut the clock and hazard button assembly . But the outcome looks nice. Will look for new bezel piece and redo the cut to be perfect. I was too generous on the surround gap. Not a bad $100 find and mod. Now i have navi again. Woohoo. Regretted selling my old stock navi unit from fltrucks when i was going to sell the truck. Love the way this fills the entire width of the center dash. Hat that i had to cut the hazard button and clock/airbag display in half.

 

With that said.... anyone want to buy the old one pictured on top. 57090 model. Out of a 2014 sr5. Standard non jbl non navi non entune. No bezel. No brackets. I put the 3rd gen brackets on it to hold the HD radio unit to the main body. Clean and everything works.

 

Where there any adapters you had to purchase? Do you have a diagram on how to wire it up? Appreciate it if you had more info on this. Thank you

 

Straight up plug and play. All plugs between the 2017 and 2014 are the same. No plug adaptors.

Physical fit part is a different story. LOTS OF CUTTING.

 

Does this radio use you phones gps or have an antenna?

 

All the factory gps unit uses their own gps antennas. Starting in 2014, many tacomas came prewired for factory gps (sr5 and up). Its a little module you can find on ebay for about a hundred bucks. Look up threads in this forum by the user fltrucks. Lots of info. He sells factory gps radio takeouts

 

I’ve seen some on eBay that they say mirrors your iPhones maps for nav.
They say they are 2014 Tacoma oem
But they don’t have the SD card ...
