Hey guys so today I purchased and had installed a pioneer avh-w4400 and some speakers etc. I'm not much of an audio guy, but def needed the apple car play since i travel weekly. I got tired of mounting my phone in diff places, and ordering mounts etc. The main reason I went w this model was bc of the wireless car play since I tend to unplug my phone a lot. As you may or may not know i kept most of the features of stock radio w the maestro rr from idatalink. I also installed an HDMI/USB extension to center console.

My stock usb and 3.5mm jack are not working, i assume because i need another part (acc-sat-t02, i think)

Also the rear view camera clarity has gone down a lot for some reason. Now it looks like a very low quality camera.

Asides that, I am pretty happy so far! Will keep you posted! Here are some pics

...and one of the truck itself :p

Any BBP Tacoma always gets a thumbs up from me

Carplay will improve greatly with iOS 12 when you can dump Apple maps and run Waze.

    Looks great!

Your camera clarity likely went down because you went from a low res stock screen to a high res aftermarket screen. The camera is still the same old resolution which looks bad when scaled to the higher resolution.

Do the functions on the screen in the instrument cluster still work with this, like fuel mileage data, and turn by turn?

Looking at the same unit. Would you mind taking a couple of pics with more light that show the fitment in the dash? I’m finicky about an aftermarket not looking like an aftermarket. Typical engineer and anal as hell.

    Very cool.

I ended up getting another model in this same line (AVIC-W8400NEX) from Crutchfield. I bought the dash kit that was recommended and it fit in well. I am assuming the OP's W4400NEX is the same dimension as mine, but take a look at the finished install...

The bezel actually blends in better than what the photo suggests—a friend of mine thought this was OEM when he saw it.

Who knows, quality on the stock looked really good and crisp, on this is very grainy. Screen isnt much bigger if at all.

Yes, you can see on some of my pics fuel etc works. This radio does not have built in gps so that option does not work.

    Yes exactly.

Here is a pic, it's just like nodoze except his has a way better touch screen i couldnt afford :(

Same as your observation since we went to a higher resolution screen, so it does look grainy. Still usable.

Maybe there's a solution to replacing OEM camera with a higher res one?

During the day is pretty decent, at night is kind of bad! Lol. I hope there will soon be an after market that will fit in the stock location.

Joe/Hector -- Appreciate the pics. I should've mentioned I have the Entune Plus head unit, not the Premium. Not sure, but I think the dash bezel may be different between the two. Which stock head unit did you have?

I had the Entune Premium w/AM/FM/CD/Nav. I think when you select the type of vehicle and current head unit at Crutchfield, it will give you the option for the bezel kit.
