I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
So as many of you know Steel Tariffs has increased raw goods pricing for the last few months. We have held tight and kept our pricing as is eating the loss of materials.

That said this issue is not as much price it's availability. A lot of the US mills have stopped producing DOM due to the cheap imports under selling them so now we have very little US stock and no imports coming in "well at least the west coast" we have seen a 300% increase in DOM pricing over the last few weeks and now are having trouble finding it!

Starting today DOM upgrade pricing is going up 100% and lead times could far exceed what is on the site if we can't source DOM.
I also want to note all orders that we have now for DOM Sliders are good. We have the material for that we just don't know how this will play out for future orders.

Yep were to the point of getting a little here and a little there at crazy high prices! I've been trying to source a few bundles for about three weeks with no luck everyone has crumbs!

HREW is always an option. This is just us letting it be known what's going on. Who knows we could have a influx of DOM in the next month and be all good but as of today the DOM supply is very slim to none.

@JLee for the sliders that I had picked up the other day and took back to you guys for new legs/gussets are the legs going to need to be DOM? Or is the DOM tubing only for the slider tubing itself?

It's far from suffering for us as DOM is a very small percent of our monthly sales. But it does suck for the end user as these parts are only going up as these material prices go up this fast.

Thank you for posting this Jerry. It’s effecting all vendors whether they have stated it or not. It has been a fight ALL SUMMER LONG for us too. I feel like all I’ve done this year is chase stock throughout the US.

I understand what Trump attempted to do with the tarrifs but he certainly didn’t look at intial impact to all that use these materials. Hopefully it’ll level out in the near future.

It's getting there the main increases have leveled off from what I've seen now were just dealing with a lack of material so the prices are sky rocketing.

A little update on the DOM

I'm told India and South Korea have hit 100% of their DOM shipments for 2018. Yes not only did they put tariffs on imports they capped most of them to a set tonnage per year. What does that mean exactly? Well its effecting the US stock of DOM as the Import is pretty much all gone on US soil. I know a lot of us already buy only domestic in this market but with the import tubing going away until the 1st of the year we have a major supply gap. Now the US mills have to step up production to fill all the orders going out and US mills have about a 26 week lead time on current orders or longer for some mills. Current pricing is about 250% to 300% over what it was at the beginning of the year due to the shortage.

So just letting our customers know DOM sliders could be pushed out pretty far so think about that when ordering we have one Mill bundle on order and getting more has been problematic but the one bundle should cover us until the end of the year or close too it. DOM will also not be discounted on any sales going forward including our thanksgiving sale.

Hopefully this :crapstorm: is over soon.
