Do you have a winch? My bumper is heavy as fkn hell (I think about 170lbs), and I have a winch, and even still 700lbs are stiiiiiiff. I could probably use some tuning on the coilovers though the dampening is just set at whatever Fox put 'em at

Ahh, gotcha. Reason I ask is, I am getting ready to jump off the fence on a kit. I am just so undecided. Some people would say I am wishy washy but I don't listen to those people.

I'm not so sure I am willing to inflict damage to have fun. And I am sure my wife would support me in that endeavor but I am also sure she would not appreciate me beating up on a new vehicle still owned by the bank.

I have a slight rub, drivers side, turning going over any bump now. I know how to fix it. But I would like to eliminate the need. I don't plan on increasing my tire size. So a mild lift height will work for me. Nothing over 3" and 2" would be fine. I am looking at the 6112/5160 kit with the HS 3 Leaf AAL and JBAs. I feel like this is overkill but at the same time I feel like this will be the best long term option, at a fairly reasonable cost. I do drive the truck a lot. Nearly 18k miles in 14 mos. And it's not my daily driver. Except in the winter. The road conditions here in Maryland are ok, except in the city. I work in the city and live in the country. It's night and day. Our infrastructure is decrepit and they are constantly tearing up the city streets to repair water pipes or some other failing utility line. I have driven through corn fields before with other vehicles and at times, our city streets are like that. Add in the pot holes and RR tracks and over time it can wear on the suspension. I am not one to slow to a crawl either.

I'm confident this system will provide me with a above average result for anything I can throw at it now, both on and off road. I'm worried though about the future. Or should I not be so worried about long term expectations.........

    See, wishy washy.

That’ll be a great setup for your use the 6112 is beefy. Save your money An research so you can make your own informed decision. Ride in other tacos with different setups get a feel for what you like.
Your not being wishy washy your gonna be changing a lot about how your truck performs.
    I’ve rode in a T4R that had 6112 An was a dream .

Do you have a light bar in the grill yet? Those work great and could save ya some money. Install is a breeze and the brackets are dirt cheap on Amazon.

Well, I was going to do the 5110's with 888 coils and a OME full pack. At least that way I could replace the coils should I want to add armor. But I am so damn hard on things I thought the beefier versions would be a better setup for me at this time in the trucks life. I know I can't switch the coils but if needed I could replace the whole strut with something to handle the weight.

Just sayin, a roof light bar is a little more involved than the bumper version, well. in front of or behind the grill. Most guys go behind the grill. If you don't have the OEM roof rack, or something else to mount it to you will need brackets. Those are not so expensive. You will also have to remove some of the black rain gutter trim up there to make room for the brackets. Some guys remove the entire strip. You can sell them though. OEM strips are not cheap. Then you need to run the wiring. Some guys go through the roof. I ran mine along the windshield inside the plastic trim. It was tight but I lubed it up with car wash detergent and made it fit.

It was the first time I ever did a lighting mod like this or electrical wiring work on a vehicle. So if I can do it, I know you can. Plus you have a great support group out there.

Here's what I have on my bumper:

    https://www.auxbeam.com/zd000093?ut...0093&utm_content=chris&tracking=5acc209d6ad14

Comes with a wiring harness and besides the connection to the light itself, is plug and play. I added weatherproof connectors in case I ever wanted to remove the light bar for whatever reason.

Here are the brackets I originally bought (and sent back) before changing my mind and using the N-Fab light bar mounting system.

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LRN53XC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

These bolt right up to the truck and then the light bar bolts to them. Easy peasy. This would place the light bar right behind the lower grill on a 3rd Gen Taco.

You could start with the grill mounted light bar and then move on to the roof later if you wanted to.

    The options are limitless.

Ome makes a great product totally happy with mine but got spoiled on the icons. Gonna go king next time around. The particular set of front struts have been on I believe 3 other trucks..they are slutty but I’ve romped on them an no sagging or leaky shocks as of yet. The dakars are the shiznet I’d recommend getting the HDs an removing a overload leaf if you don’t haul a lot. This way it makes it the medium an of you ever get get some rear weight it’s there to slap back in an don’t have to buy outright. It’s cheaper that way in the long run.
