I chose the Sport because I like the looks of the painted fender flares and the scoop.
And as far as off-roading goes, my Sport will do all I need it to do, if not then there's my '96 Tacoma.

I thought the sports came with the hitachi sport shocks. Valved a bit stiffer for better handling on the road. Slightly Taller gearing. 17” wheels and all season LT tires. I don’t believe they have the rear locker feature. Seems like quite a bit of difference between the two.

In the grand scheme of things...if you took both trucks as a whole...they pretty much are like 95% the same...lots of “same” parts...but that 5% difference people tend to add more weight to their decisions, some place more value in things others could care less about, that’s they way it is with ALL things in life lol..but all in all...all the trims are a bad ass and no one will choose a bad one IMO.

I like the Sport with painted fender flares, I don't like the Black. I don't like the stupid hood scoop and the wheels are ok. But those don't matter anyway. I am getting other wheels and tires.
