The winch's solenoid pack is basically a huge relay. "Solenoid" can be used somewhat interchangeably with "relay" (with the realization that some solenoids actually do mechanical work- but then they are also more properly called "actuators")

It's literally the best mod I ever did. Have an old Altima right now that is getting more and more frustrating as it ages (it goes through ignition coils like every 3-4 months). I plan on getting a CPO Corolla for like 12k next. Reliable low mileage Toyota that will last me forever. Saves on gas, lets me carry more people, and saves miles on the truck. Can leave the truck apart for multiple day fixes, or can limp it home if I break it and deal with it later. It's been amazing having a DD.

I need to get another daily, right now I'm alternating between my Tacoma and my 84 4Runner. When I finally merge those two together I'll need another DD to get by while I have both trucks indisposed. When I say another DD I mean another project that will have to wait it's turn. Like maybe an SC300 or older Supra.

Lol this is why I need to make sure it's a boring slush box. I already have a bunch of projects. I have a pit bike I just finished rebuilding that I am trying to sell to fix my R6. Need to consolidate so I can actually enjoy my motorcycle again. Having a 4wd project really is a time suck compared to bikes.

That's what I'm doing, Supra is on hold to modify once the truck is done (read more complete :anonymous: )

DD is by far the best mod

With a lift and some over sized tires it would look dirrtyyy the shell would give it a very nice balanced look imo and still very functional

Ummm, I don’t know. I just read on custom tacos that the reverse light wire was red and black and figure I double check here.

The dual compressor has double the cfm of the single and 100% duty cycle. I provides more cfm than my pancake compressor at home. Ive also read you can run certain pneumatic tools without an aux tank.
I got to see them in action side by side and the difference was huge. Other than faster tire filling, I tried using the single to clear the dust from my door jams/camping gear/bed with the single and was not cutting it. The dual had no problem.
The compressor is large so I will probably end up with some sort of semi-removable set up in the bed with hookups at the 4 corners. Or where my spare goes in some sort of waterproof/dustproof box that I can pop open for cooling and airflow when I use it. I dunno ill figure it out if I ever get it.
The price tag is steep so I got a resonable interim compressor until I figure out how to save money or win the lottery.

Something you may want to consider- "DIY Powertank". They're super handy, and relatively cheap.

I never really thought about the difference. Am I understanding this right?
relays can use a semiconductor or electromagnet and are used for smaller loads, while solenoids always have a moving component and can handle larger loads?
Are there pros/cons between the solid-state and electromagnetic relay?
