"Just Rolled Into the Shop" BS Thread

Pile of crap. I hate doing timing belts in the 3.5 those cams have some zip when you have to rotate them slightly.

 

the v6 timing belt is easier than the 4 cylinder timing belts usually, lol. ive got the 3.5 timing belt down to about an hour and a half, once you got them lined up they shouldnt move anywhere, but if you knock something they do go flying, lol.

 

I’m down to about an hour and 45 min once I got that crank bolt socket. I don’t know what force of nature holds the crank pulley bolt in there but it’s easier to split an atom than removing a Honda crank bolt without a hell of an impact gun and a double torque socket.

 

that 19mm crankbolt socket was a godsend when they came out. i had the first one in the shop i think.

 

I got the kit from Cornwell. They work but I’ve cracked it like 4 times. I got the one from Ingersol with the ring around it and that thing is tits!!!

 

this one is a tank. havent had to replace it in like 5-6 years now.

If my IR one ever shatters I’ll pick up one of these. I don’t recommend the cornwell ones.
Wtf is with Honda not putting rear camber arms in from the factory. I mean, I like getting an hour a side, but you would think they would’ve figured it out by now

had one for 9 years for what it is it's not bad. not an off road vehicle. my complaint is @ 102k I needed a new head and a lot of other work $3.5k traded it in for a Tacoma.

 

As a truck I don't like them. They are good vehicles for the most part and comfortable. And can still go to homedepot for bags of mulch. But I dont like how they market it like a pick up. Needed a head? We've never had one here that needed a cylinder head. Sometimes cams go bad but that's because the customer usually doesnt do recommended oil changes.

 

I just swapped a motor in an Acura TSX I bought. Blown head. Daughter of a buddy blew the radiator in West Texas and kept driving it. I’m gonna take apart the old enginehere soon and see what the damage is. You know, for science and sheer curiosity. I’ve never seen a dead k24 before

 

Its happened before, but again, usually just from neglecting the engine and keeping up on oil changes and routine maintenence. more than like if the radiator went on that engine, it blew the headgasket and mixed the oil and coolant.

It was a 2007 had the cylinder 4 cracked head issue. I think the design was changed in 2007 for the 2008 engines I was scheduled for a timing belt change, but took in in for diag. was running rough then was laboring to start. oil light kept come on(I checked the oil level each time). then just died let it sit for about half hour good to go for a wile.
I agree good for light loads very comfortable but not a truck . I bought it because it was a Honda.

Here's a good one from the Chevy dealer on my Automall. Customer came in and said this should be cover under warranty(no bullshit). Car has a branded title and a warranty block on it. People are crazy.

 

We have people all the time that think normal wear and tear items should be warrantied, and people that come in at like 100k think if shit breaks, it should be covered..."it only has 100k!"
