Pro Comp Nitro 3" leveling kit + 285/75R16 BFG AT KO2
    Hi all,

Thanks for all the comments - I definetly have the same issue on my 2017 TRD OR. Been back and forward between Toyota dealerships blaming the vibration on the BFG ko2's for being over sized. I only installed a leveling kit providing a ~2inch lift... And of course 4WP says it has nothing to do with their work.

Bottom line - like the original post said - even if I convince Toyota dealers and Toyota (I opened a case for them to reconsider under warranty) they would just be replacing it with the same faulty needle bearing.

I have been experiencing this vibration for about 3k miles - ever since the lift was done.

Will comment later after the ECGS is installed.

Found this good video in case it's usefull for anyone looking for replacing it on your own - I lack the time and needed tools to do this saddly...

    Thanks!

Has anybody had experience with a shop in the PDX area who did this upgrade for them? I'm interested in hearing recommendations and price estimate.

    Thanks!

There's a pretty good chance if you ask someone on a thread from your area they'll help you for some food and beer. That's how I got my lift and bushing installed, and right after we went wheeling since we did it in the park!

Got an early start this morning and did my bushing and 6112 install. Getting the puller in there was just like in the video. You need to tap it in there lightly to seat it then thread the puller in and wrench it out carefully. Worked smooth as butter. Just make sure that if the bearing frags to use a magnet tool to remove all the metal pieces you don't want them in the diff mixing around. I found that removing the bump stop gives you more room to tap the new bushing in. The needle bearing with 25k on them were a little to sloppy compared to the snug bushing. I wanted to make sure I get good reliability when doing the front end It wasn't making noise but didn't want to chance it.. overall the job was straight forward.
Tool is up for loan if you're local..

Identical situation happened to me and bearing replacement then failure. Put ECGS bushing in and vibe is gone.

It's only for 4x4 because the problem is with the front differential

Ill be installing an ECGS bushing when my lift is delivered, did everyone have to replace their axle seal? It didnt look like it was necessary from the few videos I watched but am wondering what everyone else did. I have a 2017 with 21k miles.

Just installed the ECGS bushing this past weekend. I bought a seal with the intention of replacing it, but it still looked new and I was tired so I left it alone. I have a 2017 with roughly 17k miles. Hopefully I don’t regret it later. I guess time will tell.

Edit: by the way, I think most people pull the whole axle, but I only pulled it from the diff and didn’t remove it from the hub. I read about someone doing it this way in an old thread. Here’s a pic of what I did. You’ll probably want to remove the C/O to make more room, but I think that’s easier than pulling the whole axle. Just another option.

Sorry man I can't seem to find the thread again. However, if I remember correctly I don't think that thread had a lot of info. It didn't really have step by step instructions.

So How many people do this even if they don't lift it ?

i do think i have had it ,some times ,when pulling my camper, I now have 30K on the truck and yes i can grab the CV and it moves all over,do you think this is just something i should do as a want to keep the truck for 15 years / i hope.
also would not mind getting on the "list" if someone is willing to loan it and i pay shipping there and back or i have seen it for $20+$8 shipping and just sell it to the next in line..
would like some feeds back please.
