    Either Maxtrax, TRED PRO, or MAXSA boards all get good reviews from their owners. For a shovel - go to your local hardware store and pick up a cheap shovel that is the size you want...So often people spend money on overpriced "off-road" crap that is no better than every day stuff you can get at a hardware store.

    EDIT: that "recovery" shovel will really suck if you have to do any actual digging with it.

    Agreed on both counts here.

    I have Maxsa's and they have worked the few times I have had to use them.

    That shovel is too small for proper recovery IMO. I agree with @RevivalOL, go to the hardware store and get a shovel from there. I had to make sure it fit the mount i was planning on using and ended up with a D handle Husky spade from Lowes.

    Edit: It could have been Kobalt. Its the blue store brand from Lowes.

    Avoid he crazy beaver shovel, it is not worth it. I only picked one up on a whim and was curious. Doesn't work nearly as well as a normal shovel. Just sharpen your shovel, yes sharpen like one use to do with them, and it will work just as well if not better.

    i regular use mine on my job site clearing tracks, filling hydrovac holes back in etc, and a normal d handled shovel works just as well and for 1/4 of the price.

    I have a Fiskars spade with a D-handle and like it.

    another good option is to go to Lowes, they have a d handle shovel that is the perfect size and good quality for like 30 bucks. Disposable and it is not a fibre glass handle, which if it breaks, your Pooched.

    Watch some you tube videos on the different traction boards and then decide. There are some good comparison videos that are fairly unbiased out there.

    Correct. That's what I hate about manufacturers these days. Always changing things up every few years so our accessories all need re-purchased. Luckily I'm still using my 2nd Gen. No need to upgrade shovels and recovery boards yet.
