Trying to decide what lift would be best for me.Icon Stage 2 w/ UCA's or OME w/UCA's.I run a 2014 DCLB.Here's what the vehicle will be used for :Weekend street ( this is our 3rd/back-up vehicle ) mostly rough beach driving with 1 or 2 times a year trail riding/mild to medium crawling. I have a tool box with about 40lbs of stuff.Probably 30 more pounds coming.Future plans are a hidden winch bumper w/ 9k winch and sliders.I don't mind a rougher ride , as my primary vehicle is a F250.Just want to be sure and have enough suspension under the vehicle if/when needed.Oh...I run a 24ft bay boat but may only have to pull it occasionally a couple miles to drop it in the water. Thanks for all the replies. There is a wealth of knowledge here and my head is spinning. LOL

I'm no expert here, but I do have the Icon Stage 2 kit (just got it installed recently), and can give you my opinion. I can't really compare with the OME though. So far so good with my Icon. I have a 2014 DCSB TRD OR, with just some off roading here and there (mostly washboard roads, nothing heavy). I'm pretty impressed with the ride quality of the Icons. I had stock for awhile, then a leveling kit which made my ride really jarring and rough. The Icons feel pretty close to stock without the leveling blocks (as far as I can remember, it's been awhile since I was stock). I don't think it feels rough at all, but that's most likely because I'm going from the leveling kit. What others have told me is that the Icons excel at higher speed rough road type conditions where the Kings (I know you're comparing OMEs but still) were better at crawling. I took my truck on some pretty rough washboard/rocky road with the Icons and it was awesome. I could cruise pretty fast and it felt planted and didn't feel like my truck was going to rattle apart. Most of my use case is that exact scenario. I want to be able to hit some long trail rides and scoot along and be in control. The guy who did my install (a suspension expert) told me that in his opinion my kit might feel rougher than stock and slow speeds, but if you are moving along and hit something or just rough terrain, the Icons will actually feel soft. I was pretty impressed with how "beefy" and stout the actual coilovers and shocks seemed--especially when you compare them to stock Bilsteins on the OR. My installer told me there are actually some traditionally cheaper brands out there now that offer really great products for less than the cost of the Icon, but I had already bought my kit so I wasn't paying attention to what he was saying (I got a killer deal on my setup so the cheaper brands would still have been more expensive). Just my two cents.

I’m in the same boat. Trying to figure out if I want to go with the icon aal that comes in the kit or the medium Dakar leafs with the one kit. Mainly my dd but would like to take it to the dunes once a year and on the rough dirt roads a few times a year. I already have TC UCAs that I will be using. Want to stay around 2.5-2.75” of lift.

What lift did you get with your icon set up? What tire size you running?

I’m at about 2.5” running 285/70/17. I trimmed a bit of the fender and removed the front flaps and the flaps in front of the tires. I think my Icons are barely touching my front sway bar so I need to get that fixed. I guess there’s an adjustment on the Icon or a relocation kit. Not sure what to do to get it fixed.

Ok awesome. I was hoping to be able to run that tire size. Did you use the aal that came with the kit?

Yes I did. I took out the factory overload spring in the rear bc that’s what Icon says. Others on here and people I know have left the overload on. You get a slightly larger lift and stiffer ride if you leave it. To get a nice level lift above 2.5” in the front you’d probably need a block or leave the overload on.
