Keep my 2nd gen Off Road or upgrade?

  1. Keep it! 2nd gen is the best.

Hi all - just wanted to say hello as I've been spending a bit of time on TW lately looking at some upgrades for my mostly stock 2007 Impulse Red Pearl TRD Off-Road (DCSB) and starting to think about trading in for a 3rd gen while I can get decent value for my current truck. Most recent improvement is new tires (thanks for the advice - love my Michelin Defender LTXs) and I think I read every post on here about going up a size before sticking with the OEM 265/70R16s. Here's a pic with the new tires. 75,000 miles and still looks new. Appreciate all the great info here.

    Workin' on it....
    This^^^^

If you keep the current truck you could upgrade the hell out of it with suspension and a bunch of other stuff for a few thousand and it’ll feel like a brand new beast. If that stuff doesn’t appeal to your needs and you just want something newer then get a 3rd gen.

Welcome! That thing is mint still. I'd hang on to it! If you decide in another couple of years to sell it, the value will not have decreased very much. And when that time comes, it'll get snatched up in a heartbeat. There are a bunch of people out there looking for low mileage second gens.

Thanks for all the responses! I had been leaning toward keeping it and all these replies supporting that are helpful. Just need to stay on top of the rust spots... (...and stay away from the new trd pro with moonroof)
