mike had been let go and had to sign a NDA I believe the 22nd so can't really blame him, he was the only person we had to talk to about our 3rd gen bumpers so we had nothing. I guess they left even their employees and reps to not know anything as well

I talked to them on 8/27 and made an order over the phone. I got that part of my payment back already. Waiting for the April deposit still due to the time limit.

Would be cool though to wait and see how this all pans out in the coming future and depending on what happens, organize a community "pool" to collect funds and get some people their money back (who are totally SIL). I'd be down to help organize it.

 

I agree that an employee might be in the dark about specific business plans (impending shut down). However, as a customer service rep, you can bet he know how many outstanding orders there were or how quickly they were(not) being filled.

See this is the part that has me pissed. They took an order on the same day Pelfrey took an online credit counseling course required by the feds before filing bankruptcy...

 

Did the Pelfreys own another business before Pelfreybilt? Before their last two Chapter 7s?

 

Considering Michael did sign his NDA, what's the likelihood of Pelfrey delivering on any threat to take him to court for spilling the beans?

 

I haven't been through all this thread nor do I have any other social media accounts that I'm active on, so I don't really know what's going on. All I know is what I've seen posted on here.

My vent: I ordered skid plates in July and was explicitly told I would get them by end of August or I would get a refund. Sent an email before labor day weekend and was told that they were delayed and would be done mid September. I then got on the phone to call them so I could cancel the order, but they never picked up. Called 5 or 6 more times, left messages and emailed, no response.

I understand that this situations sucks for everyone. I'm in the same boat as many people (and some have been away from their money for much longer than me) but I don't think their communication was appropriate in this instance. I received no heads up, no call or email, about the delays or problems with the company. I had to hear about it through the grape vine. Their are probably people still out there thinking that their orders are getting fullfilled. I was assured a refund but no one picked up when I tried to get it (before labor day weekend). I am not trying to slander anyone. I just feel this was poorly handled, my case and everyone else's.

I'm bummed because I still want to get skids, and sort of had buyer's remorse after I found the RCI skids, but the lady is not about me giving money to another company just yet.

 

Preorders.....there was a reason for them not being allowed for patches lol

 

I'd much rather be out $15 than $3000 like some of these guys.

 

Is there a free escrow service for small sums, $500 or so? Would be nice to make it standard practice for forum sales.

I think it depends. If the NDA is Pelfreybilt and not the owners and Pelfreybilt is still an entity, then yes. If Pefreybilt ceases to exist as an entity, then there'd be nobody to take him to court.
