    I did all that messing with the clutch fluid. My e-fan works a lot better in my opinion, but I can understand why some prefer to stick with the mechanical fan.

    I bought the ebay FJ shroud and bottle. I just checked my history and they both say “unavailable” now.

    The stock one does have it but I dont know the orientation. I know when I installed my 160° thermostat with the jiggle valve at 12 o'clock my temps were 170°

    Try letting the truck cool off a bit and with hood open start it up while monitoring coolant temp. You can put it in gear to get it to warm up faster.
    What you are looking for is tens to rise to whatever thermostat temp is then for temps to stabilize as the thermostat opens. After a little while temps may rise again if the radiator coolant temp has risen to engine temp because it would no longer have the capability to cool.

    Also you may have air in the system.

    My truck must just run hotter than yours. It always hovers around 181*.

    In the dead of winter idling in park it will be 170°. In warmer weather it runs about 175 to 180 while driving.

    Still in stock radiator. Trucks running cooler with the e fans now so I don’t think I will be needing this radiator. We will see next offroad trip.

    Alright. Hood open, idling, 170 T-stat.

    Temps rose fairly steadily until 175-177. Slowed and climbed slower. Leveled off at 186. Holding for now.

    Yeah, I let it idle until just now. 186 and stayed there.

    Ucon is supposed to come with a 170 thermostat.

    I have proven this in the past that the 170 tstat that comes with the ucon runs at 185. So does the stock tstat. I chatted with @Torspd about it and tested the 160 last winter. It runs at about 175 instead of 185.
    It's funny that now URD offers the 160 as an option :rofl:
