...considering how many of them there are out here.
I'm looking for a canopy, and I think I'll just go south to Bellingham, which is 1/10th of the size population wise, but I can find used parts for way less than here in the lower mainland. Canopies are usually 1/2 the price for the exact same item. Sometimes there are good deals here, but not often. Is this just an extension of the Bring Cash mentality or am I delusional?
For a truck like the one below, someone here would be trying to get $16,000

It's BC. Cost of everything is stupid.

I'm surprised we're still not being taxed for complaining online. Imagine the revenue.

Check with Canopy West or Arrow before you go to Bellingham. I know they are around half the price as ARE/Lund caps, and they are built here in the Okanagan..

I know all the good deals go fast on CraigsList, I guess I was just venting because it seems there are a disproportionate number of people who seem to think that because it is Toyota, it should never lose its value. My buddies all call it the "Toyota tax", where its costs more, 'cuz Toyota truck, brah.
This is compared to buying the same product for other trucks and cars and motorcycles I've owned in the past.
I mean, half the time I can order stuff new out of the states for the same price or cheaper as people are asking used.

Yes you should! Except people out here look at vehicles from the east like they have the plague! Many people won't even consider a vehicle from AB as it's the "rust belt"...

Yeah BC is expensive, the lower mainland for sure, but I don't see much of difference in truck prices next door in AB.

You think Tacoma pricing is out to lunch in BC....don't look in the real estate pages then.

Living in BC is insanely priced, but in the lower mainland we are close enough to the border to ship stuff to Washington and then just go get it. It saves a lot of money.

This is exactly how I wound up with a brand new ‘21. I don’t really regret it though.

thousand bucks more lands you pretty dang close to a Smartcap EVO Sport.

plus you can just get it from Overland Outfitters who are far better to deal with.

cap-it tried to sell me into a Bull Dog even though I wanted a Leer for re-sale (if ever needed).

I ordered n October of 2020, eta was February of 21. By April it wasn’t even in production.

Then I could tell you how brutal the installation was of my Smartcap… but I’ll spare you.

So I don’t expect to ever return to Cap-it.

okay, so what happens if they are unable to deliver by the delivery time on my invoice. Do I stand a good chance of getting out of it and my money back? I hope that is the case....

In my case they gave me my down payment as a deposit toward the Smartcap.

I just was clear that the delay far exceeded the original timeline and that if I could grab a Smartcap I’d like to put my money there.

min other words. I held them to their word. The automotive parts world is bizarre though.

They absolutely won't. My Cap-It refused to discount my canopy further despite the wait time running past by three months.
