Looking for tips, etc., for my 2018 Tacoma 4x4 Off Road, Dbl. Cab, V-6. Want to go to a 17" wheel tire combo (285/75/17 from the stock 265/70/16) and need fitment advice from an owner. I know that the difference between the 2 sizes as far a width is .79 inches. Height shouldn't be an issue should it? Too much info from salesmen, dealers, etc. Confusing!!

The tire calculator is your friend.

Not sure there is a solid reason to go to the cost of changing to 17". Some will say tire selection, yet most folks rarely change the type of tire they use.

If you are looking to visually fill wheel wells, a 255 85 16 on an OE equivalent wheel will give a full 33" and have no need for lift, cutting or trimming.
