Just got my Deaver U402's this weekend. Some of the plastic clips are marred, broken, or smashed. There are also some paint runs and scratches. Is this normal/acceptable? Not too worried about the paint as I can re-spray them. I don't know what the role of the clips are so I'm a little concerned about those. Thoughts?

dont the clips just keep the anti squeak pads in place? Sorry, not super knowledgeable about leaf springs.

I'm not either, that's why I'm seeing what TW has to say. All I know is these are the leafs that's suited my needs.

Mine came scuffed up a bit too, but I didn't notice whether the plastic bits were broken or not. And yeah, they appear to be the anti-friction pad.

Recommendations for paint? I would like to use a flat enamel for ease of touch-ups

Rustoleum semi gloss. It's just about an exact match to our frames

Mr. Obvious here. Maybe give the place you purchased them from a call and ask them. I have no idea otherwise.

Not mine. I scuffed most of my frame and painted with rustoleum flat black. It was to early to see rust spots and now I can re paint without scuffing. Thanks for the tip though!

Best Paint POR-15 pricey? yes Prep work before painting? Yes will you have to paint it again? Nope very scratch resistant and if you paint something with it you better be sure that you do not paint something on a seam that needs to come apart < https://www.por15.com/POR-15-Product-Catalog_p_112.html > it does come in spray however I have not tried that yet, I have painted entire frames with it and a boat trailer.
