    After searching information on what OBDI reader to purchase and app to go with it i'm a little unsure on whats best??

    Carista seems to be the most mentioned but appears to be a subscription service and is limited to what can be done with it on 3rd Gen's.

    What I'm wanting to do is read my current ECU code and then have a way to monitor basic engine functions.

    My dealership was supposed to have uploaded the new 058/062 TSB's but the paperwork doesn't note it nor has there been any noticeable change in driving characteristic's. Want to validate what tune is on the engine.

    Whats available to purchase?

    SSO hybrid bumper, Warn winch, RCI skid trilogy, RRW sliders, everything in the cheap/free mods thread, and of course the frame recall work.
    I use OBDLink app on my Android, and use a connector I bought off from Amazon (I think it was the one that ODBLink recommended). Total expense was under $20. Works on all my cars I have tried it on.

    @Matusik1,

    So you bought just the reader and downloaded the Carscanner app, correct?

    Thanks

    I run Kiwi BT adapter v2 for the port and Torque Pro on my Android phone.
    Kiwi adapter was $80. You can get a cheaper adapter from Amazon for $25.

    OBDI ended in '96. If that's what you're searching for............ try OBDII. ;)

    I like my ScanGauge II for running in vehicle.

    I have another laptop based scanner if I need deeper diagnostics, freeze frame shots and all that fancy type of stuff. Which truthfully, I never have. On over a dozen vehicles, many over 100k, a couple at 200k.

    Forgive me for not knowing how to use all the functions on this forum.

    I don’t know how to post a link to a thread I started recently.

    If you can locate this thread and go to my last post, I think you’ll be really happy with the result, just like I am.
