I’m a new pickup owner. Turned 70 always wanted a pickup, now I’ve got one. I live in VT. Looking for recommendations on snow tires. Looking at Falken brand AT 3W’s. Never driven a pickup in snow so I’m not sure how a light rear end will do. With all the safety anti skid stuff, how cautious do you need to be? Do you counter steer just like the good old days, I had a Chevy Nova that liked to do 180’s when two snowflakes fell out of the sky, scary car, but I sure did get great at counter steering.
    Any assistance will help.

Is your sport a 4x4? Just remember that it's a rear wheel drive when in 2WD. I don't do a lot of snow driving, but with a RWD, and weight in the front, acceleration in low traction conditions can be difficult. Snow tires and weight in the back will help. 4WD helps even more.

Yes it is 4x4. In years past I had a Jeep Grand Cherokee, great in snow. I do understand a Pickup is a whole new ball of wax with the light rear end.

Stephen I run a dedicated set of snow tires. Probably not necessary but it’s piece of mind for me. With the safety and traction control on these trucks it’s nearly impossible to spin around like the old Nova days.

Wildpeaks are not a snow tire. They’re an all season with a snow rating. That’s not to say they won’t be okay for your intended use, but if you’re looking for a separate set of tires for winter use only, than you’re better off going with a dedicated set of winter tires. Blizzacks and Nokian Hakka’s are two of the best on snow and ice.
