    Try hitting it with a couple shots of PB blaster the night before and trying again, I had the same issue and that helped I then coated the threads with permatex anti-seize and reinstalled it.

    Also an option to try and super cool the only aluminium plug on a hot day and keep the steel warm and perhaps the shrinkage will do the trick.

    Same thing happened to a friend. He had to use an air hammer with chisel tip to break it free. We tried damn near everything.

    The cap being aluminum and the swingout steel it's easy for there to be galling and galvanic corrosion that basically glue it together. I would recommend putting some grease on the threads to help alleviate that before you put it together.

    Looks Like I'm finally going to put a winch in my bumper. The info says 9500lbs winch is the largest for the hybrid bumper. Has anyone put something larger in? Have a Smitybilt 10K x20 available to me.

    Just wanted to see if it was possible or if any modifications were needed.

    Copy that. I understand that. It's not the pull weight I'm worried about. It's the actual size of the winch fitting is what has my concern.

    A 9.5k and 10k winch are roughly identical in my experience, some manufacturers just use one weight or the other for whatever reason. A 10k should fit just fine in Billy's bumpers

    Oh okay so size of the winch is what limits the pull rating of the winch that fits. Not the actual strength of the bumper. Havent looked into much since I dont even have my bumper yet but if I found someone that made a 12k winch in the size of a 9.5k then it will be okay?
