Really confused on lift

    title says it all.
    2016 TRD SPORT DCSB 4x4

    Driven everyday. No winch armor etc. would like to level at minimum. Preferably 2.5 lift front


    I already have 60k on the truck so it gets used a lot. Would like to retain SOME mpg

    Will I notice a difference with ome coils and bil 5100. Or just go 5100s.


    Probably leaning toward falken wildpeaks 265s. Stock wheels powder coated black.

    OME will be a smoother ride.

    Tire size, load rating are what effect MPG, not lift.

    A lift won’t change MPG. Weight kills MPG. Both the static weight of armor, RTT’s, etc and the moving weight of larger tires/wheels.

    Well partially true. Tires will most adversely effect the mpg but raising th center of gravity will raise drag this lowering economy.


    From what I have read most people with the falkens haven’t really lost much mpg with 265s


    As far as the Ome that is what I was thinking. The sports already have stiff rides. I was thinking 5100s on sport springs may not be ideal

    Either would get you in the lift ball park that you're looking for; the 5100's do have the ability to adjust the lift height (albeit that they have to be disassembled to adjust). What are you planning to do for the rear? If you just go 2.5" up front, you'll likely sit rear low.

    Lifting will impact mpg to some degree, as you're making the truck less aerodynamic; especially paired with larger tires. Good tire choice though; I've been very happy with my wildpeak atw3's.

    Looking at a AAL for now.


    My original lift thought was OME887. Bil5100s AAL rear

    Will I need UCA for that and 265s

    UCA's will be ideal to get you're caster back, and there is a chance that with stock arms at that height the wheels might be biased towards the back a bit, and might rub some on the fenders when turning at full lock.

    I feel your pain in trying to decide which lift to get. I finally pulled the trigger today on 6112 front Bilstein assemblies and 5100 rear with Icon progressive AAL.
    Be a week or so but I’ll share my experience once installed.

    Did u do any UCAs. What tires.

    No need for UCAs.

    Single leaf AAL is best for load handling. Multi leaf AAL will ride better unloaded.

    We say lifting doesn’t effect MPG because it’s almost immeasurable by lift alone. Conversely you can see substantial changes in MPG with tire changes. Upwards of 20-25% just upsizing slightly with a P metric all terrain.
