I have a 2018 off road dcsb. I plan to do a 1.5 inch rear lift, but not sure if i should put a single aal or the progressive 3 leaf knowing that i may end up getting a hardtop canopy later on.

Will the ride quality still be pretty good if i end up getting the 3 leaf and a hardtop canopy? Will it sag more with this set up vs a single aal?

    Welcome to TW!

I bought the progressive 3 leaf and they were awesome for a while. Less stiff and jarring from what I hear the single AAL would do for the ride quality. In regards to when you get a hard camper shell I think getting an actual leaf pack replacement is what you are going to ultimately want.

My rack/tent is a constant weight of about 180-200lbs and I am already starting to sag with the progressive ALL. I just put in an order for some Dakars.

Basically...for the time being the progressive AAL will serve you well but long term with the camper I would get the leaf pack replacement.

Single is stronger, so if you tend to tow, haul, or have constant weight then a single is best.

If you are mostly empty bed with no extra weight, a 3 leaf will ride a little better when there’s no load.

Also yes, if you buy a shell - go with new leaf pack altogether or get airbags.

I am personally going to go with heavy as my tent and rack stay on indefinitely. With the camping gear and two people in the tent then the total weight is going up even more. The only difference between the two is one leaf and if you decide to go with medium duty you can always add the leaf to make it heavy. Or if you buy heavy you can remove the 3rd leaf to make it medium.

Thats what I like about the Dakars. Versatility. Im running the 95 pack. You will love the Dakars. Youre right, if I decide to get a topper I'd probably add the leaf.
