Maxload capacity, they figure you are going to pull a 12k 5th wheel once you leave

I drove it around the block at 85psi just to see what it was like. Felt like the back was slipping on oil and the ride was super harsh. Here is a pic of mine with the new KO2s. I like them. I think we will be just fine with them.

I love my Michelins. When I see "I don't offroad beyond the occasional dirt road", it's a no-brainer. Yeah, they look the opposite of aggressive but I actually like the low-key, classic look. They don't look like they belong on a Ford Edge; they're still truck tires and have a professional look. There's a reason these are upgrade tires on the new Ford Super Duty, the design is tried and true. They are second to none in the rain and for daily pavement use in general, and while my truck doesn't really see anything more hardcore than unimproved fire and logging roads, they do much better than you'd expect off-pavement and grip pretty well in everything except deep mud, which I try to avoid like the plague anyways since I have a 2WD pickup. o_O
I've had KO2s and previous versions of the rightly-venerated BFG All-Terrain tires on previous trucks before, and have also likewise had the original Michelin LTXs. The Michelins will likely last you twice as long, and they wear really gracefully. The siping is super deep, so if you keep them rotated it's honestly hard to tell you have any wear until you get way up there in miles, and rain traction stays strong until they're really bald. Mine are around 10k and there's no discernible wear whatsoever; I'll probably get 100k out of this set, which is good, since I do 30-40k a year and rack up miles pretty quickly.

I think I'm sold on them for life, but next time round I'll probably bump up the size to 265/75r16.

I like my ko2 but my truck slides everywhere pretty easy when it’s wet out. Great I’m dirt but when turns to mud they are useless.

You can try to get a c rated ko2 which is lighter or a skinnier 255/xx tire.

You know what, I think you were the person to listen to in my case, but alas, I went for the looks. I'm so superficial! :) However, I have to say my new KO2s were just fine in the rain the other day. A big step up. I promise you, if these wear out faster than I like, and maybe even if they don't, I will remember your advice and probably go with Michelin next time. PS Your truck looks great with those tires.

I have a 2012 DC Prerunner and plan to order Michelin Defenders next week while Costco has them on sale. I have read a lot of posts and I know I want these tires ( All my driving is pavement, I want a good ride quality, and mpg ). I was planning on ordering the 245s, curious why you would bump up to the 265s next time? Thanks

I have a first-gen; stock size for my truck was 265/70r16, so that's what I got. My truck has General HD springs and Bilstein 5100s and sits about 2" higher than stock, though, so 265/75r16 would fill out the wheel wells a bit more without having to go to an e-rated tire.

Thanks, I previously had a first generation and didn't realize they had 265s.

My KO2 265/75/16 E-load. These things are great for road use. ZERO problems.

Well, I ended up going with the Michelins even though BFG won the poll. So far so good. Road noise is a little quieter than the old rugged trails20180912_153825.jpg

Thanks to all the posts here and elsewhere, I actually had a dream that my new K02s were slipping like crazy in the rain. I woke up relieved because they are just fine in the rain. I guess my subconscious was working on all the news about Florence and the ranting about tires. You would think it has more important things....
