Hello all, this is my first post. I have a 2002 Tacoma TRD which my son is now driving. I need help buying a new truck from a dealer. I’m also open to a used. How do you figure out a realistic offer? I’m looking for either a TRD Pro or TRD Sport. They offered $39,668 for the Sport and want 50,409 for the Pro. That seems way too high. How do you get the price down? Thanks for any tips/advice.

Just found the thread for “How Much did you Pay?”

Welcome to TW! Dealerships are probably going to be more stingy with the negotiations on a TRD Pro since they believe they are made of gold, but you should be able to talk them down a bit on a TRD Sport.

I would reccomend you use Edmonds. They tell dealers in your area what you are looking for and then the dealership emails you their offer. Take the lowest two, and bid them against each other. Got my 2014 TRD sport for $27k this way.

I would get that sport down to 34k before I bought it. If they won't deal walk away, you can find a dealer that will give you the deal you want.

Sounds like you got a good deal! I’m looking for a TRD Off Road. Would love to get the black rims. Definitely like the look.

He was happy with it, that weekend they were offering $5500 off any TRD in stock.
