Thanks Max, I'm also glad we got out. It is a common excuse of pro-communists that local government never supported the "true communist practices". Which is to say the local government became corrupt in the face of so much power.
Honestly, the only country that really makes communism work is China. When you have a huge population of low income rural people, it kinda makes sense. But, you really need a government that keeps corruption to a minimum. That didn't happen in Russia and now their system is totally corrupt. When the cracks formed, the whole Eastern bloc fell part. It really wasn't the "unified" socialist system that everyone though. It was many dissimilar countries each implementing a semi-similar political system.

And I managed to get things done and (almost) got the day off. I need to go in and fix my "time" so I get paid right. If I can get in and out I won't add any. Trying to help the program at the end of the FY and not get too much OT but I'm not going to totally give away my time either.

Very very true. The Chinese government has made a lot of changes in the last few years to actually encourage a state sponsored form of capitalism. Plus, the have be very good at managing Hong Kong. They always think in the long term, which is what you need to maintain their system. They are also ruthless at executing government heads who become corrupt. If the Deepwater Horizon would have happened in China, Ken Salazar would have been publicly executed.

Plzen built a memorial to the American troops who liberated our city. The Russians tore it down, so the Czechs just held a yearly festival in the park. The Russians paved over the park, so the Czechs just stopped traffic and held the festival anyway.

A clue in the veggie thief mystery: our 2nd floor tenants saw a squirrel out front munching on a tomato. Must be the Italian breed.

I was goin to suggest a squirrel,they eat on mine in the garden but only 1/2 of a tomatoe then move to another pink one.
