We got to do that to an old shitty government printer, at my last unit. It was the only day I was happy at that job.

Forgive my ignorance but what do you use an onboard air compressor for?

Nice find, indeed. That distinction between the park code and the state code is actually a big difference, because believe it or not, Maryland does consider a parking lot a "highway."

Hmmm how can they enforce state traffic law on private property?

    Uhhh...air, duh. Just kidding. :D

For air lockers, airing up tires post air-down, etc. I think I saw a thread where someone used it to pressurize their onboard water tank. I'm sure there are other uses as well that I am missing.

If its a county/city/state park its not private property is it? Genuinely curious as it seems like it would be public.

Trust me, I am not trying to be argumentative, just disclosing what my research showed so that we can all benefit in the future.

    "Highway" means:
    (1) The entire width between the boundary lines of any way or thoroughfare of which any part is used by the public for vehicular travel, whether or not the way or thoroughfare has been dedicated to the public and accepted by any proper authority; and
    (2) For purposes of the application of State laws, the entire width between the boundary lines of any way or thoroughfare used for purposes of vehicular travel on any property owned, leased, or controlled by the United States government and located in the State.
Md. Code Ann., Transp. § 11-127 (LexisNexis, Lexis Advance through July 1, 2018).

There have actually been a surprising amount of cases on what constitutes a highway. The two most "on point" in this case decided that a bar's parking lot and a church's parking lot are "highways." I would think that those two things are considered more "private property" than a park so I am not sure that a Judge would rule in his favor on that point. I'm sure that we both agree it is a ridiculous application of the definition of a highway but, it is what it is.

Having reviewed what @GoGoGadget posted, I actually think the fact that the park code doesn't include that "highway" language is detrimental to him - one less element he can try and disprove.

    Maryland definition:
    32. Highway—a general term for denoting a public way for purposes of travel by vehicular travel,
including the entire area within the right-of-way.

I would argue a parking lot (even public) is not for purposes of travel. It is for purposes of parking.

yeah I'm not trying to argue either. I just enjoying being an armchair lawyer. Most of the time I'm wrong which makes it even more fun.

If we were to use common sense, I would agree with you. But the truth is the law doesn't always follow common sense.

And, FWIW, I am wrong must of the time, too. Just ask my wife.

Isn't someone in here a teacher? we should have them give this debate to their class with the photo since children are all basically mini lawyers.

I just know that in GA the only traffic laws you could enforce on private property were DUI and reckless driving. (Other than handi-cap and firelane parking violations because they were State provided signs).

Varies from state to state. For instance in VA, DUI and Reckless Driving can be enforced on private property. So leave a bar drunk and crash in the parking lot, you get a DUI even tho you never got to the street. Likewise, go out in the parking lot to sleep it off and you get a DUI if you are in the drivers seat. So sleep it off in the back seat. :D

Thats exactly why I don't have a RTT. My drunk ass would fall out and I'd be in a wheelchair the rest of my life.....though I guess I could park where ever I wanted afterward....

My dumbass forgot to turn one trail camera on after replacing the batteries when I got home a few weeks back but here are a few pics from the one that was on... :frusty: @chiefcrunchy and @Truggin - nothing special but do have a bear. Lots of deer but nothing special.. a decent doe or 2 and several cowhorns. No monsters like last year. Maybe now that the other camera is on I can find some good ones.
